How To Join
While members of Civil Air Patrol are volunteers, many responsibilities and priveliges await those who join.
Member Types
Civil Air Patrol has two primary membership categories, Cadet and Adult. Cadet membership is available to anyone who has completed the sixth grade but it not yet eighteen years old. Adult membership is available to anyone who is eighteen years or older. There are no restrictions for membership due to race, gender, ethnicity, or disablility. Aliens that have not been granted permanent residence to the United States may join if granted a waiver from higher headquarters. Those who are not eligible to join are those who have a convicted felony or a dishonorable discharge from the U. S. Military. An FBI background check will be performed on all adult members who submit an application. There are other, more specialized membership categories for educators, clergy, and parents. Unit Information
The 184th Composite Squadron is located in Shelbyville, Indiana. Meetings are held every Thursday (excluding holidays) at the Army Aviation Support Facility from 6:30pm to 9:00pm. Guest should plan to arrive around 7:00pm. Directions can be found on the information sheet (link is on the right).
